I was trained in a black and white, wet darkroom and never left it for digital. I love film, I love fiber paper, I love the stinky smell of fix! It's magic in there, that's the only way to describe it. Light hits paper, paper hits chemistry, a snippet of time appears from a blank canvas.
I shoot medium format film-- mainly Kodak Tmax 400, process it and print in a traditional darkroom. Usually I print on 8 x10 paper, making approximately 6.5 x 6.5 images, or 11 x 14 paper, making approximately 9.5 x 9.5 images.
Holga images are best when they're not too large, but I also love the idea of having to get up close and personal with a photograph to really experience it.
